发动机机油具有冷却、润滑、清洁、密封4大功能，其对于保证发动机正常的工作起到至关重要的作用。随着发动机工作时间的增加，发动机机油由于高温氧化、机械零件的磨损物、燃油蒸汽腐蚀等因素的影响而受到污染。另外，发动机机油在正常使用中还要有一定的消耗量。 下面我们具体讨论机油消耗的原因以及如何避免其造成的可怕后果。 1、机油用于润滑活塞、活塞环和汽缸，当活塞下行移动时，将在汽缸壁上留下一层油膜。车辆减速时，产生的高负压将一些这样的机油吸入燃烧室，这种机油和部分留在汽缸壁上的油膜一样，在燃烧过程中被高温的燃烧气体燃烧。 2、机油也用于润滑进气门杆，被吸入燃烧室。高温的废气同样会燃烧用于润滑排气门的机油。 以下是影响机油消耗量的因素： 1、机油的黏度：机油的黏度越低，其密封效果越差，被吸入燃烧室的量就越多。 2、车辆的驾驶状况：高速行驶以及频繁的加速和减速，将增加机油的消耗。 3、高速行驶过程中，稀释的成分将蒸发，因此高速行驶后会发现机油过度消耗。 4、由于新发动机没有经过磨合，因此将消耗更多的机油。丰田公司给出的磨合期机油的Z大消耗量为1.0L／1000km。 Z后我建议大家Z长每1000公里检查一次机油液位，如果条件允许Z好在每次加油时进行检查。
